Merry Christmas from Nicchi Scans

Merry Christmas everybody. Obviously there haven't been any releases lately as I've been pretty busy with work these days. My break just started though, and aside from a trip to Tokyo for Comiket, I'm going to have lots of free time to work on stuff I've been putting off. Look forward to seeing some new releases here after the year ends.

Upcoming Projects

Just as Conan announced earlier on his blog, we will be picking up the series Negative Twin Towers. I first want to finish the last two chapters of Yellow Pop before I begin translating this series, and I'm also kind of busy at the moment studying for the N1 Japanese Language Proficiency Test in December. I intend to have some chapters done before then, but the releases will probably come out slowly until after my exam is finished.

Most of the omake pages for Otaku no Musume-san are ready, but I'm going to wait until the last volume gets released in December so I can include the omake pages from that as well. As for re-translating the older chapters that haven't been done by Nicchi-scans before, I won't be doing those until I've at least translated a significant portion of Negative Twin Towers. So probably a couple of months from now at the very least.

I honestly never expected I'd be doing this series, but I'm glad Necro and I chose to pick it up. At some point I will get around to finally translating those omake pages from the full volumes.

Otaku no Musume-san chapter 60 is now out. In a about a week from now I'm moving to Japan, so from now on when a new chapter comes out, I'll be able to get the raw as soon as possible and speed up the process by a few days.

Took a bit longer to translate this one since I was busy with work. The pages are a little smaller this time because this is the first chapter I've scanned with Windows 7, and the default resolution was lower for some reason.

On a more serious note, I would just like to offer my condolences to everyone who was affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. And for those wondering, Stu-Hiro is alright. I checked his blog earlier, and he seemed to be fine. He was in Chiba prefecture at the time of the earthquake, which apparently took minimal damage.

Chapter 55 is now out. See my previous post regarding the new numbering for the chapters. The releases page won't be updated until I release the extras from volume 8-9 since it will contain the fixed titles pages for most of the chapters. I had Conan fix the title pages for what are now chapters 54 and 53 already since volume 10 isn't out yet. You can find them below.

Oh, great...

So I recently got my hands on raws for vol 8-9 of Otaku no Musume-san. As I said earlier, we will not be re-releasing the complete volumes, but I have decided to release the omake pages as well as a few pages that have received a notable touch-up. These are mostly title pages. The bad news is, while looking through volume 9, I noticed Stu-Hiro decided to combine chapters 48 and 49 into one whole chapter. So basically, the chapter numbering is going to change AGAIN. For the time being I'm going to leave the numbering on the downloads page unchanged. Here is what's basically going to happen:

47 is still 47

48+49 will combine to become just 48

50 is now 49

51 is now 50

etc

So our upcoming releases will be chapter 47(no change) and 55(again). With the exception of the (old) chapter 54 and 55, I'm not going redo the title pages from the magazine scans because I am going to release the modified ones from the volumes anyway. Those will have the fixed chapter numbers.
