Nicchi-scans was formed in December of 2009 by Necro and Raiken. They had both originally joined another scanlation group to assist with Otaku no Musume-san, but left before doing anything due to the unsatisfactory conditions of said group. Necro suggested that they form their own scanlation group and take on the project themselves. Raiken provided the raws and did the translation work while Necro handled all of the editing. Within months, they had caught up to the most recent chapter, and almost two years after forming, they completed the series. Before finishing Otaku no Musume-san, Necro retired from scanlating and Conan of the 4Dawgz H-manga Translation Project took his place.

The group had for the most part been on hiatus after finishing Otaku no Musume-san, but the blog was renovated in January of 2013. Plans for new projects were being considered but Raiken was busy doing freelance translation work while teaching English in Japan. In July of 2015 Raiken and Necro reformed the group and began working on scanlations again.
