Wait... this is chapters 42 and 43 combined?? OneManga.com posted this release as just chapter 42. So I downloaded the actual release and I couldn't figure out where chapter 43 began, so I can see why they didn't sort it out either. Could you maybe point out where the chapters separate?
great work necro and DAMN i did not see that coming at all it provided a good end to the arc now what will ch44 hold next as always keep up the MARVELOUS EIPCNESS THAT YOU DO
Holy cow!! I can't believe what I've just read. Poor Kouta. I do think sensei was pretty cruel for not telling him earlier. I've lost some respect for him. I think it's even worse than having two cousins getting married. But that's just my opinion.
The translation and editing were top-notch, btw. Thanks for the double chapter!!
Love the Maison Ikkoku references. Although the original Souichiro Otonashi died only 6 months after he married Kyoko. So sensei's dream can just go out the window.
necro why did you have to unleash such RAGE inside me? why did you decide to scanlate this manga? i wouldve been happily living my life ignorant of such RAGE...
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be happy or upset. I mean, I'm glad it all worked out for Kanau (can't say the same for Kouta, but I was fully on Kanau's side) but I'm just disappointed that it went to the "father-daughter turned lovers" type ending for Sensei and Taeko. I mean, I know it was probably set up like that in the beginning (and I had been ready to put it down if I saw any hints of that ending) but the respect I had for this manga just went pffft. Ah well. I guess it's because I'm not the target audience of this manga at all. I'll still be following it though. *sigh*
I'm so shock I'm impressed.I have to give it to Hiro if he wanted people to go wtf just happen he did it.Thanks for scanlating it this have to be the biggest twist i ever read in a manga.
I'd personally rather have it work out for Kouta than Kanau. I mean, as the protagonist, we're put in his PoV.
The age or relation doesn't really bother me. I'm way more pissed because Taeko was looking like the heroine. It wouldn't have mattered if she were some secondary/tertiary character, but to dangle her in front of Kouta...
Yeah. After giving it a second read, I still dislike Sensei and Taeko for the weird turn of events (you know, he could've just married Kimiko to gain custody of Taeko). But I don't feel so much sympathy for Kouta since he's a very immature person who hasn't done anything to deserve to have his love requited. I mean, he's an old kid. He's an otaku. A very immature human being "beyond repair". But hey, go, Haruka, go! I've watched all 96 episodes of Maison Ikkoku, so I don't miss a beat on this.
@ Anon who said Sousuke didn't like Tae "that way."
Did you forget that when Tae started to develop, he felt really awkward aroud her? He did see her as a woman at that point IMO.
@Calcium&Iron
How can you dislike Sensei? The two words that describe him best are kind-hearted and open-minded. And I'm sorry, any straight male would marry a goregous 16 year old girl if it was legal. Keep in mind that Tae does love Sousuke, so if anything it was the guy that was "forced" into it.
Still, I can see why people would be shocked... I can't recall anything in previous volumes that even slightly hinted at their marriage.
OMG WTF. But I still thiunk Sensi like Kimiko, not Manager-san. And more important is how Nicchi is becoming a key character on the story, since he was Kanau´s mom noyfriend and knows everything about everything (not the marry stuff). I hope Kouta and Haruka go out and Manager get´s gealous . One more thing, if the people with disapearing disease is there how can they have introduced them in the begining and how they pay the rent?
@Anon. Yes, I was shocked. But yet again, maybe I also subconsciously dislike him because he's a male shoujo artist. Lol. j/k. @Sakakibara Eitaro I doubt Taeko will get jealous if Kouta and Haruka go out. She's in love with sensei. That's all there is to it. But now I'm rooting for Haruka. Although, she has to do something about that hair (I liked her first hairdo much better).
Now, I think I can just about expect anything from this manga. Heck, if sensei actually died, and Taeko started calling the dog "Sousuke", it wouldn't surprise me.
this was beyond just F***ed up, this disgusted me beyond words. i actually threw up, i didn't throw up when i saw (sufficed to say something that should be far worse then a manga.) i could go on for a couple paragraphs about exactly why i hate this as much as i do, but i really don't think that's necessary.
i will most definitely not read another page of this and will delete what i already have (a first in my 5 years of reading manga)
my mind can barely rap itself around just how F***ed up this is... like finding out your childhood friend and love interest is married to your friends ugly fat grandfather...
Ahaha, gave me quite a shock! At least this cures me of cliffhangers, for a while--though I'm still on the lookout for getting my hands on this volume in real life.
@necro, ooo ok. I ask because I know of a couple producers who want to make a movie so I was wondering if Otaku no Musume-san could be adapted to an american audience, and a script could be written.
@Nam: Are you kidding? At the least, they would have to alter the character's ages for the American version because at 16 you are still a minor in America and cannot get married.
Thanks :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteI... certainly wasn't expecting that.
ReplyDeleteStolen wives???
ReplyDeleteLol. This chapter is really good. I love it. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteやった~
ReplyDeleteありがとうございます!
I've been looking foward to this today, downloading now.
Thank you for 2 new chapter ^__^b
ReplyDeletei will read later.

ReplyDeleteGreat chapter! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hard work!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I should've known that this chapter (DOUBLE CHAPTER) would come out the night before my midterm.
great work necro and DAMN i did not see that coming at all it provided a good end to the arc now what will ch44 hold next as always keep up the MARVELOUS EIPCNESS THAT YOU DO

I can't say I wasn't expecting that...
ReplyDeleteTHAKS A LOT, NICCHI!
That was pretty ****ed up and out of the blue.
ReplyDeletenecro why did you have to unleash such RAGE inside me? why did you decide to scanlate this manga? i wouldve been happily living my life ignorant of such RAGE...
ReplyDeletebut now...you just killed me...
It probably feels more messed up because we lost the protagonist's main love interest, rather than the quasi-incest.
ReplyDeleteI mean if Kanau started to like Kouta we'd probably have less qualms.
Ha, can't wait for more.
Hm.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm supposed to be happy or upset. Wtf hot girl goes to fatty? genshiken anyone? Kinda gross this time though he has over 15 years on her and he was her dad.

Kouta's Happiness -> An expendable resource.
Thanks for all the hard work Juan, Raiken, Necro!
ReplyDeleteAnd just wow at this chapter...
I just gotta say... Go Sensei GO!!!... but why didn't he tap that as soon as they got married!?
As for the landlady stepping down as the lead love interest... meh, oh well... time for Haruka to shine in that spotlight IMO.
You guys are simply awesome.
ReplyDeleteAwesome work you guys!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the chapter, I really didn't expect that. Unexpected mind f**k is unexpected.
Awesome work, thanks for your hard work man!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe chapter is really awesome. This was veeeery unexpected.
ReplyDeletepg56 is the name of the inn in maison ikkoku rather than an instant house =p
ReplyDelete*necro said: They separate between the 2 full page spreads.*
ReplyDeletenecro, do you mean the full spreads with Taeko and sensei?
Wow totally unexpected, thought sensei was gonna marry kimiko instead
ReplyDeletelooking forward to volume 8
mangafox has alot of readers in revolt. People seem to be disgusted by the twist.
ReplyDelete@necro,
ReplyDeleteBTW the midterm went great.
You ever think that otaku no musume-san could be made into a movie?
Yeah. After giving it a second read, I still dislike Sensei and Taeko for the weird turn of events (you know, he could've just married Kimiko to gain custody of Taeko). ReplyDelete@ that last Anon
Now that made my day. I haven't had a good laugh this week but that did it.
Well this is great motivation for kouta to get out of that apartment building.
ReplyDelete(same anon from last post that owns 1-6)
